The great Georgian bake off
One-hour session, Year 3 to Year 6
In this classroom workshop, pupils will discover what people ate and drank in London in the 1700s, through object handling and hands-on activities. They will learn about Georgian society, and how the divide between rich and poor influenced the work of John Wesley, one of the founders of the Methodist Church.

John Wesley’s Guide to staying healthy in the 18th century
One-hour session, Year 3 to Year 6
A multi-sensory session exploring health and hygiene in London in the 1700s, and looking at John Wesley’s role in improving the health of poor people. Pupils discover Georgian “cures” for some common ailments as described in Wesley’s “Primitive Physic,” handling real herbs and spices.
