Half-day visit for Year 9 to Year 11
Learn about the origins, beliefs and practices of Methodist Christianity:
– Explore John Wesley’s House to discover how his beliefs and experiences helped shape the development of the Methodist Church.
– Visit Wesley’s Chapel to find out about Methodist worship and what makes it distinctive.
– Investigate fascinating objects in the museum to learn about Methodist beliefs and the organisation of the Methodist Church in Britain.

Please note that part of this session takes place in John Wesley’s House, which has a steep staircase and no lift access.

Turning the Tide: How John Wesley Opposed the Transatlantic Slave Trade
Half-day visit for Year 5 to Year 8
Learn about John Wesley’s part in the campaign to end the transatlantic slave trade:
– Visit John Wesley’s Georgian home to find out about the role of enslaved people in the production of goods popular with 18th century Londoners.
– Discover what Wesley did in the fight to abolish the slave trade, and try writing with a quill.
– Investigate some important artefacts in the museum and find out about key figures Wesley campaigned alongside.
